Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

These Terms govern your use of verifAInow.es. By signing in, you agree to them. Read carefully — if you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Service operator

verifAInow.es is an independent project operated by Fernando Rueda Oliva, based in Spain.

What the service does

verifAInow.es accepts Instagram reels, TikTok videos, or news article URLs, processes them with an AI pipeline (transcription, on-screen text reading, claim extraction, source lookup), and presents a verdict for each identified factual claim with citations to the sources used.

Not professional advice

Verdicts are produced automatically and are provided for informational purposes only. They are NOT legal, medical, financial, or any other form of professional advice. You should not rely on a verdict to make consequential decisions. Always verify important claims independently.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (the age of digital consent in Spain) and able to enter into a binding agreement. The service may be invitation-only at the operator's discretion; if so, only invited email addresses can create accounts.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in email secure. We will treat any verifications run from your account as authorised by you. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • circumvent rate limits, access controls, or the daily verification quota for your plan
  • use the service for any unlawful purpose under Spanish, EU, or applicable local law
  • submit content you have no right to submit (e.g., URLs pointing to private content you obtained without authorisation)
  • make automated requests in a manner that disrupts the service for other users
  • scrape, reverse-engineer, or otherwise extract the service's underlying datasets or model outputs at scale
  • attempt to identify, contact, harass, or de-anonymise any user from the data exposed by the service

Content you submit

You retain ownership of any URL or text you submit. By submitting, you grant us a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to process that content for the sole purpose of producing your fact-check verdicts. We do not claim ownership of your submissions or your verdicts.

Third-party content and platforms

The service depends on third-party platforms (Instagram, TikTok, the publishers of news articles) for the content you submit, and on third-party APIs (Google Fact Check Tools, Tavily, Apify, Groq, OpenAI) to produce verdicts. We do not control those platforms' availability or terms, and a verification can fail for reasons outside our control.

Billing (paid plans)

Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. You can cancel at any time from /billing — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and access continues until that date. Refunds are handled in line with EU consumer law; contact us within 14 days of a charge if you have a refund question.

Accuracy of verdicts

Verdicts are generated by AI models drawing on third-party search results and may be incorrect, incomplete, or out-of-date. Every verdict card cites its sources so you can verify the work yourself. We disclaim any guarantee of accuracy.

Warranty disclaimer

The service is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis, without any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator's total liability arising out of or in connection with your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability (or zero, if you are on the free plan). The operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Spanish/EU consumer law.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or create legal or operational risk. You may close your account at any time by emailing us; deletion is processed within 30 days.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Consumers benefit from the protections of their country of residence under EU law. Disputes not resolved amicably can be brought before the competent Spanish courts; consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Changes

We may update these Terms when the service changes. Material updates will be communicated by email or with a prominent notice in the app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
